If you have lost one of your Beoplay EX earphones, a replacement earphone is available for purchase here or from your Bang & Olufsen retailer.
Note! Pairing a replacement earphone requires following specific guidelines, and it is only possible to use a specific replacement earphone. Using a random single earphone will not work.
Prerequisites
- Bang & Olufsen app (version 5.3 or higher)
- Charging case software version 5.1.3 or higher
- Earphone software version 5.7.4 or higher
- Charging case and earphones fully charged
Pairing procedure

Case software 5.1.3, earphone software 5.7.4 ⬇
- Make sure the original earphone is placed in the charging case with the lid closed. If you have the defective earphone, ensure that it is placed out of range of your mobile device or switched off, e.g. stored in another charging case.
- Open the Bang & Olufsen app.
- Open the charging case lid.

Wait for the app to connect with Beoplay EX.
Do not proceed until you see a battery status for both the case and the earphone. You may need to refresh the page by swiping down. - Place the replacement earphone in the charging case.
- Select 'Settings'.
- Select ‘Replace earbud’.

Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Close the charging case lid, then wait approx. 3 seconds for the light indicator to turn off before opening the charging case lid again. - Wait for the light indicator to start flashing blue (approx. 1 minute).

Tap ‘Done’ and go to Bluetooth settings to pair with your device again.
Forget the previous connection.
Shortly turn off Bluetooth and turn it on again to connect with Beoplay EX. /li - The earphones should now be successfully paired.
Case software lower than 5.1.3 and/or earphone software lower than 5.7.4 ⬇
- Make sure the original earphone is placed in the charging case with the lid closed.
- Open the Bang & Olufsen app.
- Open the case lid, take out the original earphone and place it next to the case.
- In the Bang & Olufsen app, select the Beoplay EX product page.
- Select 'Settings'
- Select ‘Replace earbuds’.
- Click on ‘Update Case’
- On the next page, click ‘Install Now’ to update the case software.

On the next page, click ‘Confirm and update’.
The case will now update. - When the update has completed, click ‘Done’
- Click ‘Continue’ to proceed with the earphone pairing.

Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
a. If the software version of the original earphone was 5.7.4 or higher, the earphones should now be paired
b. If the software version of the earphone was lower than 5.7.4, we highly recommend updating your Beoplay EX to the latest software to ensure full functionality of your newly paired earphones.
Proceed to update by clicking ‘Update now’ - On the next page, click ‘Confirm and Update’
- The earphones will now update to the latest software version.
- After updating, the earphones should now be successfully paired.
