To use two Beolab 8 speakers in a stereo setup, there are multiple ways of pairing them.
To learn how to set up a stereo pair in the Bang & Olufsen app, please see How do I set up Bang & Olufsen Stereo on Beolab 8?
Fully wired (option 1):There are two Ethernet ports in the Beolab 8 connection panel. This makes it possible to connect from your router/switch to the primary speaker and then from the primary to the secondary speaker using Ethernet cables. |
Fully wired (option 2):Another option is to connect each speaker directly to your router/switch. Please note that some routers and switches are not suitable for Bang & Olufsen stereo pair setups. |
Wireless:When connecting the speakers wirelessly, the primary will connect to your local Wi-Fi network while creating an access point dedicated to the secondary speaker. |
Mixed wired and wireless*:If your speakers are installed in an environment with a lot of wireless interference, you may experience issues with a fully wireless stereo setup. In many cases, you can solve connectivity issues by connecting an Ethernet cable between the primary and secondary speaker. To use a mixed wired and wireless setup, the speakers need to have been set up as a wireless setup first. Connect the Ethernet cable to the IN-port on both speakers after the wireless first-time setup has been completed. * The Ethernet cable is used for the audio stream, while Wi-Fi is used for app control and software updates. |
