How do I use a 3rd party TV with Beoconnect Core?

bc core banner.png

There are three prerequisites for using Beoconnect Core as a stereo system for a TV:

  • eARC
The TV supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) or eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). This is necessary in order to play the sound from the sources or apps from the connected TV.
  • HDMI-CEC
HDMI-CEC enables the TV to switch on and off Beoconnect Core and vice versa*. Please note that HDMI-CEC can have different names depending on the TV manufacturer. For example, for LG screens, it is called "SimpLink". Please refer to the TV's user guide for more information.
  • PCM sound output
The sound output in the TV settings must be set to 'PCM' (in some TVs called 'Stereo').

*HDMI-CEC is implemented in different ways, depending on the TV manufacturer. We cannot guarantee that Beoconnect Core will work with all implementations.
