How do I set up speaker connections on Beoconnect Core?

Beoconnect Core supports stereo configurations:

  • Up to two Bang & Olufsen loudspeakers via Power Link
  • Up to two Mozart Platform™ speakers connected via Digital Power Link (wireless)
  • Up to two 3rd party speakers (using the Power Link output connection)

2.1 setups are possible by mixing Power Link and Digital Power Link. 
Example: Beolab 8 speakers (via Digital Power Link) with a Beolab 19 subwoofer (via Power Link).

Setting up connected speakers

You must first define which speakers are connected to the system. 
Navigate to Sound > Connected speakers.

 

Configuration of the different connections is described below.

Digital Power Link


 

Digital Power Link (DPL) is the technology that enables Beolink Surround and Beolink Stereo. 

DPL is a network-based audio streaming protocol developed by Bang & Olufsen. When using DPL, Beoconnect Core will be able to connect to Mozart Platform™ speakers for an immersive, high-quality stereo experience.

  1. Select Digital Power Link in Connected speakers
  2. All compatible speakers will be shown
    • The speaker(s) must be:
      • based on the Mozart Platform™
      • added to your Bang & Olufsen account
      • connected to your network
    • If your speakers have been used in a Beolink Stereo setup previously, the speaker pair must be separated in order to appear in the list.
  3. Select the speakers you wish to use and tap Confirm.

  1. Beoconnect Core will connect to the speakers.
  2. Tap Done to complete.
  3. Once all speaker connections are defined, setup the roles of the speakers: How do I set up speaker roles?

Power Link
  1. Tap on + and select your first speaker from the list. 

    Tap the + below the selected speaker and select the second speaker from the list.

    Tap "Confirm".
  1. Confirm that the speakers are playing a sound, one at a time. 
     
  1. If necessary, switch between Left and Right role by tapping the "Swap" button.

    Tap "Confirm"
  2. Once all speaker connections are defined, setup the roles of the speakers: How do I set up speaker roles?
