Why doesn't the automatic play/pause function work properly on my Beoplay HX?

The Wear detection is a feature that detects the placement of the headphones and automatically pauses the playback of your music or video when you remove the headphones from your head. The Wear detection feature is capacitive, and certain weather conditions and humidity may influence this functionality. Ear size and shape may also influence placement detection. The way you wear the headphones will affect the functionality of the automatic play/pause, see below:

    Cover the entire ear

    • The Wear detection sensor may have difficulties measuring if not placed correctly over the entire ear.
  2. mceclip1.png

    Place directly over the ear

    • When hair blocks the earcup, it may have difficulties measuring the placement, so make sure to place the earcups directly over the ear.

    Wear detection (Proximity) sensor calibration

    • Switch on your Beoplay HX before placing them on your head (wait for the light indicator to turn off). This will ensure that the Wear detection sensor calibrates properly which allows it to detect the placement of the headphones and automatically pause the playback of your music or video when you remove the headphones from your head.
