The proximity sensor is a feature that detects the placement of the headphones and automatically pauses the playback of your music or video when you remove the headphones from your head.
If you wish to disable this feature, please follow the steps below:
Initiate Bluetooth pairing
• Move the switch to the top position and hold it for 2 seconds
The indicator light will start flashing blue, which indicates that pairing mode is now active
Disable the proximity sensor
• Double tap the centre of the touch pad on the right earcup
The indicator light will turn red, which indicates that the proximity sensor is deactivated
If you wish to activate the proximity sensor again, you just have to follow the same steps above. The indicator light will turn green to indicate that the proximity sensor is enabled.
You can also disable the proximity sensor in the Bang & Olufsen app, provided that your Beoplay H9i are updated to version 5.1.5 or higher. To learn how to update your Beoplay H9i, visit our article here.
