The sound drops out in the left earbud of my Beoplay E8. What do I do?

Interference can affect true wireless earphones like Beoplay E8 and cause sound dropouts. This is very difficult to avoid completely, even though Beoplay E8 have been thoroughly tested for interference in accordance with the most stringent international standards.

Beoplay E8 connect through so-called Near-Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI). This technology has been used in hearing aids for many years and is based on a short-range magnetic connection. NFMI is subject to interference from nearby electromagnetic and magnetic signals. When this interference occurs, short disconnections can happen, causing the sound in the left earbud to drop out.

There are many devices that cause this interference, most notably some mobile phones, citizens band systems, shop alarm systems, power lines, electrostatic discharge, airport metal detectors, monitors, train control systems and EMC from a PC monitor.

Whenever you experience this issue, increase the distance between the Beoplay E8 and the interfering device or signal.
