Smart TV

With Smart TV you can, for example, access the internet, receive notifications and hear a sound as well as view information from another smart device.

For information about Smart TV, LG describes:

Home

While watching TV, press the HOME button on the remote control to run Smart function quickly.*

Live Menu

While watching TV, you can easily search for other programmes by moving the pointer to the right side of the screen. You can also press the Right button on your Remote Control to see the Live Menu. You can find the programme you want and switch over quickly and easily.*

LG Content Store

Games, applications, and more can be conveniently enjoyed on your LG webOS TV.

My Starter 

For information about My Starter, LG describes:

My Starter lets you view information through your TV, such as the current time, weather, and schedules you have added to your smart device.

  • By setting up My Starter on your TV or in the LG TV Plus app, you can make My Starter run automatically at a specified time with your TV being turned on.*
  • Some features are available only after you install the LG TV Plus app on your smart device.

*To enable My Starter on your TV, press mceclip5.png, select Settings, followed by Picture & Programmes..., General, Timers, Timer Power On, Set My Starter and then select On.

Setting Up in the LG TV Plus App

  1. Download the LG TV Plus app from the app store of your smart device. 
  2. Connect your TV and smart device to the same network.
  3. Run the LG TV Plus app installed on your smart device.
  4. Select My Starter in the LG TV Plus app and set the options.

Viewing a Schedule with My Starter

Set up schedule sharing with your TV in the LG TV Plus app following the instructions, and then you can view the schedules added to your smart devices on your TV.

  1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
  2. Run My Starter by selecting the  time displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • If there is no time displayed, set up the time for your TV.

  • If multiple smart devices have been set up to share schedules with your TV, the schedule on the last smart device set up for schedule sharing is provided.
  • You can use schedule sharing without configuring Set My Starter.

 

Internet

For information about the web browser, LG describes:

You can enter the website when you input the web address on the URL bar. If you input the search word, it will find the information about search word based on the search engine.*

  1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
  2. Run the Web Browser application.

  1. You can add the current page to the Home screen, or add or delete the current page in Bookmarks. (A page added to the home screen can only be deleted on the home screen. In this case, it is not deleted from Bookmarks.)
  2. Reloads the current page.
  3. You can turn on/off Mini TV.
  4. Zooms in or out of the screen.
  5. History : You can open or delete the history list.
    Bookmarks : You can open or delete the bookmark list.
    Settings : You can configure simple settings for the browser.
    Encoding : You can change the language when the content is not properly displayed on the web page.
  6. You can use the browser in full screen mode.  To go back to the original screen, use the Remote Control to move to the top of the screen. Exit Full Screen will display.
  7. Exit the Web Browser.
  8. The Recommended Sites and Most Visited Sites are displayed on a new tab.
    The Recommended Sites may not be available in your country.
    To hide the Recommended Sites, choose Off in Settings.
  • The Web Browser supports only HTML5 media and not Flash Plug-in.
  • The Web Browser does not support plug-in installation.
  • On the Web Browser, it may not be possible to play media files in formats other than : JPEG / PNG / GIF
  • The Web Browser may be closed if there is insufficient memory space.
  • On the Web Browser, only fonts embedded in the TV are used. Therefore, text may be displayed in different fonts than the ones on the PC.
  • The Web Browser does not support file and font downloads.
  • Since the Web Browser is a TV browser, it may function differently than PC browsers.
  • Since the Web Browser is a TV browser, some of the content may not play properly.
  • Exercise caution when in use by children. Children may have access to inappropriate online content through this product. You can block inappropriate online content by restricting access to some apps.**

*On some markets, you must select bookmarked websites instead of search words.

**To configure settings, press mceclip5.png, select Settings, followed by Picture & Programmes...Safety, and bring up Application Locks.

Setting the Web Browser

Press the mceclip5.png icon at the top of the screen and select the Settings.

On Startup You can set the startup page of the browser to Open the New Tab page / Continue where I left off / Home page:.*

Search Engines You can select the default search engine.

Recommended Sites You can change the settings so that Recommended Sites are displayed.

Always Show Bookmarks Bar You can change the settings so that the Bookmarks bar is always displayed.

Private Browsing You can configure the settings not to leave records after searching.

Site Filtering -
Approved Sites : You can configure the settings to open the previously registered web pages only.
Blocked Sites : You can configure the settings to block specific websites.

  • To use the Site Filtering function, you should enter the TV password. The initial password is set as "0000". When France is selected for Country, password is not "0000" but "1234".

*This feature is available on some markets only.

Using Filtering Feature

The filtering feature restricts viewing of online content which may be unsuitable for children. We strongly recommend enabling this lock feature when your children access the Internet via the TV in order to prevent issues like "cyber bullying" or viewing of unsuitable content. Using this feature requires a contract with Digital Arts Inc., which is subject to a subscription fee.*

Sign Up i-Filter...

  1. Press the Sign Up i-Filter in the Filtering setting.
  2. Read the terms of service and sign up. After signing up, activate the filtering feature.

Changing Filtering Settings...

  1. Press the Set Up i-Filter in the Filtering setting.
  2. Enter the password.
  3. You can enable/disable filtering, and set filtering level and user registration information.
    • Setting Filtering
      On i-Filter : Enables filtering.
      Off i-Filter : Disables filtering.
    • Set a Filtering Level
      Click Filtering strength setting.
      Set a filtering level by following the instructions on the screen.

Unsubscribing...

This option is enabled when you have signed up for the filtering contract.

  1. Press the Set Up i-Filter in the Filtering setting.
  2. Enter the password.
  3. Click Filtering strength setting.
    Unsubscribe by following the instructions on the screen.

After signing up, selecting Reset to Initial Settings suspends the filtering service but does not terminate the contract.

  • To resume using the filtering service, sign up again in Sign Up i-Filter.

After unsubscribing, even when the filtering setting is set to Off i-Filter, subscription fee may be charged until unsubscription is completed.

*This feature is available on some markets only. To bring up Filtering Setting, press mceclip5.png, select Web Browser, followed by the menu icon in the top right corner, and select Settings

 

Bluetooth

You can use Bluetooth to stream from any music source or directly from your hand-held device. Connect your device via Bluetooth to the television.

Pair a device....

Make sure your device is in pairing mode.

  1. Press mceclip5.png to bring up the Home menu.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to select Settings and press the centre button.
  3. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to select Sound & BeoLink...  and press the centre button.
  4. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to  select Sources and press the mceclip13.png button.
  5. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to select Bluetooth and press the centre button.
  6. In the Bluetooth menu, highlight PAIR and press the centre button to search for a device to pair to your television.
  7. If the device is opened for pairing, pairing takes place.

Unpair a device...

  1. Press mceclip5.png to bring up the Home menu.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to select Settings and press the centre button.
  3. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to select Sound & BeoLink...  and press the centre button.
  4. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to  select Sources and press the mceclip13.png button.
  5. Press mceclip10.png or mceclip11.png to select Bluetooth and press the centre button.
  6. In the Bluetooth menu, highlight Paired devices and press the centre button to bring up a list of paired devices.
  7. Highlight the device you wish to unpair and press the centre button.
  8. Highlight DELETE and press the centre button. 

 

Notifications

For information about notifications, LG describes:

The Notifications transfers real-time notifications from various apps and LG services. It shows the status of apps that are currently running and allows you to view, delete and run all notifications in one place.

  1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
  2. Run the Notifications application.

  1. You can delete notifications.
  2. For notifications that have a lot of content, press more to open them in full view.
  3. You can delete all notifications.
  4. You can launch the APP or move to URL.

Note that not all functions are available on all markets.
