Can I use a computer to change settings on my Beoplay A6?

Yes, you can use a computer, which is connected to the same network as your Beoplay A6. Note that you can also download the dedicated Bang & Olufsen app if you want to change settings using your iOS or Android device. The Bang & Olufsen app is available for download here

     

Make sure that your MAC/PC and Beoplay A6 are on the same network. Once on the same network, use the following steps to find and change Beoplay A6 settings on MAC/PC:

• Change settings using MAC OS

  1. Open the Apple Safari browser. Make sure that "Include Bonjour" is selected in the "Bookmarks menu."
  2. In the preference menu for Safari open Safari and then select Safari -> Preferences -> Advanced.
  3. Then click Bookmarks -> Bonjour and click on "Beoplay A6_xxxxxxxx."
  4. If this does not work, open your browser to access the Beoplay A6 Setup page by typing "192.168.1.1" in the address bar. 

• Change settings using Windows 8

  1. Point to the upper-left corner of the screen -> move the mouse pointer down and then click "Search" -> click "Apps", enter File Explorer in the search box and press Enter. Click "Network" in the left pane and double-click on "Beoplay A6_ xxxxxxxx".
  2. If you cannot see your Beoplay A6, you must turn on sharing for the network you are connected to.
  3. If this does not work, open your browser to access the Beoplay A6 Setup page by typing "192.168.1.1" in the address bar. 

• Change settings using Windows 10

  1. Right-click on "Start" and type "Network Status" select show "Available Networks" and select "Beoplay A6_xxxxxxxx."
    If network discovery is disabled, you must enable it to be able to see your Beoplay A6.
  2. Select between the different menus and follow on-screen instructions. 
  3. If this does not work, open your browser to access the Beoplay A6 Setup page by typing "192.168.1.1" in the address bar. 

Important! You may not be able to use your workplace computer to change settings on your Beoplay A6 due to security restrictions, including firewall settings and assignment of IP addresses. Contact your network administrator for assistance.
