What is PUC and how do I use it with Beovision Theatre?

The built-in Peripheral Unit Controller (PUC) acts as an interpreter between a connected product, such as a set-top box or Blu-ray player, and your Bang & Olufsen remote control.

Download a Peripheral Unit Controller (PUC) table and use the Bang & Olufsen remote control to gain access to the functions offered by your non-Bang & Olufsen product.

The optional transmitter cable required for PUC to work is available for purchase from an authorised Bang & Olufsen retailer.

How to connect PUC?

Insert the plug in the port labelled "PUC A+B" in Beovision Theatre. Place the infrared transmitter on the device you wish to control, making sure to cover the infrared receiver. Take note of the letter (A or B) on the sticker near the transmitter.

How to set up PUC in the Bang & Olufsen app

Select your Beovision Theatre in the product overview. Tap "Product settings". Next, select "Third Party Devices" and "Peripheral Unit Control".
Select the PUC that corresponds with the letter on the sticker near the transmitter attached to the set-top box. In this example, PUC A. Press "Add device".
Select your set-top box model. Use the search field or select from the list.
Select the HDMI connection in Beovision Theatre used for the set-top box.
Select when the set-top box is to enter standby.  Press "Done" to finish the setup.

Operate other products with Beoremote One

Some functions are available directly via Beoremote One when you switch on the products. Additional functions are available via the LIST button in the remote control display.

1. Press TV to bring up sources in the Beoremote One display, then  or  to highlight the source name configured for a connected product, for example, HDMI A.
2. Press the centre button to switch it on.
3. Press LIST to bring up a list of source-related functions.
4. Press  or  followed by the centre button to activate the selected function.
