What is Wind Guard for Beoplay EX?

Beoplay_EX_0001.png

When enabled in the Bang & Olufsen app, the Wind Guard* feature automatically reduces the wind noise. The technology will detect and then suppress the noise when the wind reaches a certain amount of air volume by turning off some of the microphones used for Active Noise Cancellation**.

In general, when Active Noise Cancellation or Transparency Mode is turned on, the earphones’ microphone is more sensitive to wind. If you experience this, you may find the Wind Guard feature useful.

Wind Guard is enabled/disabled in the Bang & Olufsen app:

Note: Enabling Guard Reduction may decrease the battery life of your Beoplay EX.

Please see how to download the Bang & Olufsen app and update to the latest software version available for your Beoplay EX here.

*From software version 5.5.8

**You may notice that the Active Noise Cancellation performance on your Beoplay EX is not optimal. This is not a product fault. If the wind is too strong, we recommend toggling to the Neutral setting, which can be done by tapping on the left earphone.
